Resource-based Recreation Planning – Led ecological aspects of numerous Parks Systems Master Plans and specific site designs for individual parks. Implemented site specific design and permitting for the National Park Service, and created master recreation plans for Water Management Districts in Florida and on thousands of acres of natural lands owned by local governments. Substantial expertise in the evaluation of natural systems in public ownership and the development of resource-based recreation plans to capitalize on their intrinsic value without causing ecological impacts. Developed monitoring protocol to ensure that natural values of conservation lands are sustained under human recreation pressure, led technical working groups to facilitate the broad interests of stakeholder groups, and presented final plans to elected officials.
